Gilford gets ready for annual switch-on celebrations

Gilford’s annual Christmas switch-on will take place on Wednesday, November 27 at 7pm.

And event organisers, Gilford Community Forum promise that the evening will have something for everyone.

Proceedings will take place as usual outside Gilford Library Building and the event begins with a Christmas service delivered by local clergy. Music will be provided by Poyntzpass Silver Band and pupils from St John’s and Gilford primary schools will be entertaining the crowds with their renditions of Christmas Carols.

Following the service at 7.30pm, there will be a Christmas party at Gilford Community Centre where parents and children are invited to enjoy entertainment.

And of course a very special guest will be popping in too, Santa!

Please note that Mill Street, from the Banbridge Road roundabout, as far as the Dunbarton Street junction with Castle Hill will be closed to traffic from 6.45pm until 7.30pm.

Diversions will be in place during this time.
