Ashley Teggart, Ann Street, Gilford, was fined £250 last Thursday at Banbridge Magistrates Court for unlawful possession of a class B drug on March 18.

He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard a police mobile patrol noticed a car negotiating a mini-roundabout and spoke to the defendant who was driving.

He seemed nervous to them so police carried out a search and a small quantity of cannabis was found in the car.

A solicitor said the car only came to police attention because it had been modified and had difficulty in navigating over the speed bumps. He said the defendant was no longer a user and this cannabis was some he had forgotten.
