The court heard that about midday police received a report that a car had been taken from outside the owner’s address.

It belonged to the father of the defendant and he believed his son had taken it.

At 11.15p, the vehicle was located on the Tandragee Road. It was being driven by the defendant.

Wylie made a full admission of taking the car without his father’s permission and not having insurance.

His solicitor said the defendant, who suffered from clinical depression, took the car for a drive to clear his head.
