Gillian takes the chair at PR body

A Senior PR Executive with Coca-Cola HBC Northern Ireland in Lisburn has been elected to Chair the Northern Ireland group of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Gillian Shields has been involved with the CIPR for seven years and held the position of Vice-Chair last year.

CIPR Northern Ireland has around 250 members and represents members with all levels of experience and from every sector of the PR industry.

She takes over from Lisburn man Ross Williamson.

“I am deeply honoured to have been elected Chair of the CIPR Northern Ireland and proud to be leading the Northern Ireland Committee “ said Gillian “I will be continuing the work of my predecessor, Ross Williamson who worked hard to, amongst other things, promote and develop the professionalism of our industry.

Last week’s Annual General Meeting also saw the election of a full executive committee and the Vice-Chair was named as Gary McKeown, Communications Manager for the Public Health Agency.
