Gilmour Family Appeal Fund

Everyone has been touched by the tragedy that befell young 8 year old schoolboy Adam Gilmour while making his way from his Cloughmills home to school on 11th November.

Now, the Mayor of Ballymoney, the borough in which Cloughmills is sited, Alderman Bill Kennedy, has launched an appeal fund. Donations to the appeal should be lodged to “Gilmour Family Appeal Fund” at Bank of Ireland, The Diamond, Coleraine. Account No. 90-48-00 -7528 5899.

Speaking at the launch of the appeal Mayor Kennedy said: “What happened to Sarah Hanna and her young family that morning is distressing and has pulled at the heartstrings of the community. People here have a reputation for good neighbourlyness and there is a lot of sympathy and concern for Sarah and her young family. Many people have contacted me wanting to help in some way. While Council has no direct role or responsibility as Mayor I have decided in response to the public interest to set up an appeal to receive donations.”

Cheques in favour of “Gilmour Family Appeal Fund may also be sent to Mayor’s Office, Riada House and will be lodged to the appeal fund.
