Girlguiding awards ceremony

Girls and leaders from Ballymoney and Ballycastle are celebrating after receiving awards at Girlguiding North Antrim annual awards ceremony.

During the night awards were presented by special guest Girlguiding Ambassador for the County and Lord Lieutenant for County Antrim Joan Christie, County President Pam Trail and Girlguiding Ulster Chief Commissioner Carol Graham.

Among the awards received were Chief Guides Challenge, Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Millennium Volunteer certificates, young leadership certificates, octant certificates, adult leadership awards, long service awards and Special Thank you awards.

County Commissioner Emily McIlvenna was overwhelmed by the turnout at the awards, she said: “It was fantastic to see so many leaders and girls with their families at the awards ceremony to help us celebrate the outstanding achievements of everyone receiving awards.
