Glamming it up at SRC

'S' CERTAINLY was for 'Style' recently when Southern Regional College, Lurgan Campus held their annual hairdressing competition.

Level 2 and Level 3, day release and full time hairdressing students organised the event as part of their hairdressing qualification and anyone who attended will know the level of excellence that was on display.

The atmosphere was intense as students worked tirelessly, competing in the following categories: Freestyle (Level 2), Ladies Day Style (Level 3), Ladies Evening Style (Level 3) and Avant Garde (Level 3).

The three judges who had the extremely hard task of picking the competition winners included Stephen McCusker (Stephen International Hair Salon, Lurgan), Shane Bennett (Shane Bennett Salon, Hillsborough) and Deborah Dorrity (Health and Beauty Clinic, Lurgan). All three commented that the level of talent was outstanding and praised every competitor on the day.

The whole event was a huge success and acted as a great showcase for the flair and talent the students of Southern Regional College possess.

Level 3 hairdressing tutors Teresa Crossey and Nichola Gibson gave special thanks to all staff, students and models who were involved in making the day such a success. Special thanks was also offered to the sponsors of the invent; Alfaparf, Revlon, Anne Moore Hair Salon, Stephen International Hair Salon, Gail Force Hair Salon, Hair Jemms, Sally Hair and Beauty Supplies, Scissors Direct, Beauty Express, Lidl, I&J Flourists, Sainsburys, Real Beverage Solutions and Coca Cola.

Make up artist student winner was Charmine Jones and overall Level 3 winner achieving top marks in all three competitions was Adam Greene.
