Glee star rocks Holy Trinity College

STAR of the hit American TV Talent show ‘The Glee Project’ Damian McGinty from Derry recently paid a visit to Holy Trinity College Cookstown.

The 20-year-old singer/actor was spotted at an early age for his talent and with the support and nuturing of none other than renowned musical legend Phil Coulter, Damian left school at 14 to join ‘Cetlic Thunder’, the sensational Irish music production which went on to complete coast to coast USA tours.

Even performing in such famous venues as Radio City Music Hall, New York, the White House and winning top awards on the US Billboard charts.

In 2011, Damian won a place in ‘The Glee Project’, ain which the winner secured a lead role in the third series of US phenomenon ‘Glee’. Damian WON the whole competition, and has starred in 19 episodes to date.

Damian now lives in Los Angeles, California and he has carved a successful career as a professional singer and actor.

Damian’s recent visit to Holy Trinity was arranged by his good friend and music teacher at HTC Mr Plunkett McGartland, who also provided the musical accompaniment.

On a short break form his hectic schedule, Damian told his young audience how important it was to work hard for success in school, stressing the fact that even though he left school at 14, a tutor was arranged for him and he passed thirteen GCSE’S!

In an electrifying performance, Damian demonstrated why he is now one of the hottest properties on the international music scene….the pupils screamed for more….and more!!
