Glengormley BusinessAwards 2017 launched

The search is on for the best of Glengormley's businesses, as preparations for the Glengormley Business Awards get underway.

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Scott and the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Noreen McClelland, launched this years Glengormley Business Awards with Maddie Dunlop, Serendipity at Home, Iain Patterson, EA Davies Insurance and Louise Brogan, Social Bee NI.

The awards, organised by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council in association with Glengormley Chamber and Traders’ Association, will see local businesses compete for one of the following categories.

These are: Best New Business Award;Best Kept Shopfront Award; Service with a Smile Award; Best Food and Drink Award; Best Takeaway Award; Salon of The Year.

The awards were launched by the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor John Scott and the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Noreen McClelland.

Also in attendance were Maddie Dunlop, of Serendipity at Home and Iain Patterson, of EA Davies Insurance and Louise Brogan, Social Bee NI.

Serendipity at Home won three accolades at the inaugural awards last year.

These were: Best New Business; Best Kept Shop Front and Best Service with a Smile.

Commenting at the time, Madeleine said: “I am so humbled and honoured that my customers and people of this town have taken the time to vote for me.

“I love my job and I love what I do and I love the people I meet along the way.”

The council says that these awards are a “great way to recognise those businesses that serve Glengormley and take pride in their products, services and local area”.

The awards will be decided by public vote which will be open from Friday February 24 until 12 noon on Thursday March 9, so make sure you click www.antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/businessawards to register your vote!
