Go down the rabbit hole for charity

The tea party will take place on Saturday 7th May at Ballydown Presbyterian Church Hall.

All doors will open at 2pm with face painting, games, a dress up ‘selfie’ booth and poems read by local storyteller Doreen McBride.

All children will then be invited to showcase their maddest hats and take part in the fancy dress Wonderland Parade at 3pm (with prizes up for grabs!) before joining Alice, the White Rabbit and the Mad Hatter for a magnificent tea party at 4pm.

Diane Cherry, Chairperson of Banbridge Children’s Hospice Support Group said: “We are so excited to be holding our very own Mad Hatter’s Tea Party for NI Children’s Hospice.

“After the success of our Banbridge Big Coffee Break last September, we really wanted to organise another local event and as we’re fundraising for a children’s charity we thought it would be perfect to host a fun day for kids.

“On behalf of us all in the group, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been helping us organise this event and are providing food, decorations, props and generous donations.

“We’d also like to thank Ballydown Presbyterian Church for once again allowing us to use their premises.

“We warmly invite everyone to join us to raise money for the Children’s Hospice. We look forward to seeing you all on the day with your mad hats!”

Funds raised through this event will support the work of Children’s Hospice nurses as they care for local life limited children and their families across Northern Ireland.

Speaking on behalf of NI Children’s Hospice, Jenay Doyle, Community Fundraiser said: “We are delighted that Banbridge Children’s Hospice Support Group are getting involved in another event for the Children’s Hospice.

“Every pound raised really does make a difference to the lives of the special families we care for.

“We would like to wish the group every success as they prepare for their event and thank the group and the community for their ongoing support of NI Children’s Hospice.”
