Golden inspiration for Harmony Hill Primary pupils
OLYMPIC Hockey gold medallist Jimmy Kirkwood visited his alma mater recently to talk to the P7 pupils at Harmony Hill Primary School.
The pupils took part in a question and answer session about Jimmy’s experience of winning a gold medal as part of the Great Britain hockey team in the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
As well as watching a DVD of the Olympic Final the children were delighted to be able to touch the actual gold medal Jimmy won.
The school’s annual sports day next week will have an Olympic theme with every class representing a different competing country and each class carrying an ‘Olympic torch’.
