Golf club to step up security after vandals target course

SECURITY is to be stepped up at City of Belfast Golf Club in Mallusk after a spate of vandalism at the course over the past few weeks.

During the latest incident on Friday night (April 9), mindless vandals smashed up a wooden bridge and dug a hole in the middle of the fourth green - damage that will cost around 1,000 to repair.

Belfast City Council, owners of the course on the Antrim Road, and club officials have said that security at the site will now be increased in a bid to put a stop to the ongoing attacks.
