His club are now in the process of developing a new 4G training facility, which will be named as the Aaron Devlin Pitch.

The golf tournament at Killymoon to raise funds for the pitch, will be held on July 8.

“Loads of people within our family circle and outside it just are still in awe of how Ballinderry performed at that time,” his brother Coilin told the Irish News at the launch of the tournament.

“When they wanted to do this and the idea was floated, Daddy has always said from way back that he felt he owed them something in return. He said he would do a golf day to thank them for how good they were to us.”
