Golfers ‘club in’ to help little Jessica

The magnificent total of £7,000 was collected during a fund-raising camapign masterminded by the club’s bar manager, Tracey Hughes.

Tracey decided to raise funds to help provide a hydrotherapy pool for little Jessica Philpott the local girl who suffers from ‘Apert Syndrome’ - a life long affliction.

The syndrome, which affects one in every 100,000 children and disrupts the normal growth of bone before birth, results in deformities of the head, hands, feet and face.

The hydrotherapy pool will help Jessica to maintain strength in her arms and legs.

The first fund raising event took place on Saturday July 25 with an evening of music provided by ‘Pure Blarney’.

Members turned out in good numbers to support the evening which was followed in late August with a special golfing day dedicated to the fund.

Tracey said: “I would like to thank all the members for their support right throughout this campaign. We know this will mean a great deal to Jessica and her family.”
