Good send-off for Brian and Danny

HOUSING Executive staff in Larne were joined by colleagues from across the organisation to bid a fond farewell to two long-serving employees.

Larne district maintenance manager Brian Brown and maintenance officer Danny McMullan have retired from their posts after a serving more than 60 years between them in the organisation.

Brian has been in the Larne office since joining the Housing Executive in 1973 and was appointed district maintenance manager in 1979. Danny joined Larne staff in 1982, having previously worked in maintenance in Ballymena.

Paying tribute to both men, district manager Elizabeth Martin said: “Both Brian and Danny have played a key part in delivering our housing service here in Larne over the years, with a wealth of expertise on repairs and maintenance and knowledge of the district, which have been of benefit to the Housing Executive and to the local community.

“Both have carried out their roles with professionalism and commitment and will be sorely missed as colleagues and friends. I know that Brian and Danny are looking forward to their retirements and have been making plans. As keen golfers, I’m sure this will include aiming to reduce their handicaps!”

She added that the good turnout to mark the occasion demonstrated the esteem in which both Brian and Danny are held, locally and throughout the organisation. On behalf of everyone, Elizabeth wished Brian and Danny long and healthy retirements.
