Gordons Chemists celebrates five years at Balmoral

GORDONS Chemists, Northern Ireland's largest independently owned pharmacy chain will be celebrating five years of health checks for the rural community at this year's Balmoral Show (May 12th to 14th).

And statistics compiled by the company's health experts show that over 500 men and women have been referred to their GPs following free advice from Gordons at the show – that’s one in every ten.

After a chance remark to his local Gordons pharmacist, Gerald McAvoy, 57, says it led to a high blood pressure diagnosis with his GP – and he is now being treated for the condition.

The pharmacy chain will be offering the famous Gordons health check at the Balmoral Show for the fifth consecutive year. It’s hoped that hundreds of rural men and women will avail of the FREE on-site testing for blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol levels as well as advice and information on issues such as care in the sun.

The Balmoral Show runs from Wednesday May 12th – Friday 14th and the test-centre is located at stand C9 in the main hall, at the centre towards the main front doors. Gordons Chemists offer these tests at various times across selected stores. Please check you local store for details.
