Gospel Mission comes to Banbridge

EVANGELIST Bertie Johnston will visit Banbridge from Sunday October 30 until Friday November 11 to preach on his life from the public house to the pulpit. Pastor Johnston will visit Banbridge Baptisit Church from October 30 until November 11 at 6.30pm on Sunday and 8pm Monday through to Friday. He will also visit Banbridge High School on Tuesday November 1 at 8pm.

The congregation will listen to Pastor Johnston’s life story of sin - drinking, gamblin and all manner of godless living both in his native Fermanagh and later in Manchester.

Alongside his father he plunged the family farm in Derrygonnelly into ruin through neglect and foolishness and moved to Manchester to escape his troubles. There things only got worse and it wasn’t until he met a girl in 1969 that his life bgan to change.

Pastor Johnston now uses his life story as an example to others of how anyone can be saved by God’s grace. “For by grace are ye saved through faith.”
