Gospel TV programme is to be filmed at Lisburn CWU Hall

The Mission Hall in Market Street, built in 1772, was the first Methodist Chapel in Lisburn and the founder of Methodism John Wesley. preached there in 1789.

History and modern technology will meet on Saturday when Eyrl McCallum from Lurgan, along with his wife June, will be along to record the event - to be broadcast on Sky TV Gospel Channel 587.

‘Country Gospel Time’ is produced regularly in Lurgan and features Northern Ireland artists.

It began in April last year and the pilot programme was picked up by Icelandic TV.

Today it is broadcast around 52 countries worldwide and can be viewed on Sundays at 5.30pm, Monday 10.30am, Wednesday 10.00pm and Friday at 1.00am.

The schedule requires pre-recording three or four months in advance and the aim of the programme is to reach people with the Gospel.

Taking part in the service on Saturday will be Pastor Jason Dunlop from the Bible Pattern Church in Portadown.

Also Mr. Anthony Price, will bring messages in song and testify relating to his life as a traveller and how he came to know the Lord.

The Chairman will be Pastor George Sands from Hulls Hill and ‘The Musical Messengers’ from Lisburn will accompany the congregational singing.

The evening will conclude with a special buffet ‘barbecue type’ supper which will include hotdogs and pavlova desert.

The Secretary, Mavis Ross, has given a warm invitation to the people of Lisburn to come along and share in this unique occasion.

The service commences at 7.30 pm and those attending are asked to arrive in good time to facilitate the running of the programme.

There is no charge for admittance but a freewill offering will be taken for the work of the Mission Hall.
