Gracehill & Galgorm Women's Institute

THE FEBRUARY meeting of Gracehill and Galgorm Women's Institute addressed a very important topic, Diabetes.

The incidence of diabetes in the community has risen rapidly in the last decade and is on the increase. Ms Florence Brown, National Medical Care Advisor for Diabetes UK gave members a comprehensive presentation discussing the clinical picture of the condition and the factors most involved – hereditary, dietary and exercise.

Medical advice should be sought if early symptoms - increased thirst, tiredness, loss of weight , blurred vision - present.
