Graeme in running for 'Ambassador of the Year'

PORTRUSH golfer Graeme McDowell is the running for another top award.

The US Open champion could be crowned ‘Ambassador of the Year’ a the IN Magazine ‘Glamour Awards’ later this week at the Merchant Hotel in Belfast.

Graeme is up against sporting starts AP McCoy, Barry McGuigan and Dame Mary Peters, Gary Lighbody and Christine Bleakley for the award.

Hosting the awards this year will be TV presenter Zoe Salmon, and much loved BBC radio presenter Gerry Anderson.

Not only will the event announce the deserving winners of each of the six principal categories, which are sponsored by businesses including House of Fraser, Audi, the Merchant Hotel, Vita Liberata, airline bmi and its4women.co.uk, an online insurer; but there will also be a prize for ‘Most Glamorous on the Night’ sponsored by Victoria Square.

Organiser and IN! publisher Lisa Harrison said: “Since launching the magazine back in 2008, we have profiled so many fabulous people and stylish events in Northern Ireland and the awards are our way of celebrating all that is glamorous here.”

All proceeds from the gala event will go towards Children in Need.
