Grammar design team has the formula for success

A young design team from Carrickfergus Grammar School is preparing to move up a gear for the UK final of the F1 In-Schools Technology Challenge.

Team Vision from Carrickfergus Grammar School have been crowned regional winners in the 2015 event and next month will represent Northern Ireland.

The six Year 13 pupils designed and manufactured their own CO2 powered F1 car, using CAD/CAM technology, to race in time trials against other schools.

The Carrickfergus Grammar School team impressed the organisers with their PIT display and gave a verbal presentation to judges who awarded them first place overall.
