Grammar school placed in formal intervention

The Lurgan school is only the second grammar school in Northern Ireland to have such measures imposed after being rated as “inadequate” by the Education and Training Inspectorate.

Principal Gerard Adams has rejected the conclusions of the inspection which took place in March this year.

He claims it is “inherently unfair and unjust” that the school did not have the opportunity to question or challenge the inspectors’ findings or present further evidence before the report was published.
