Grandfather’s shock after shots fired at his home

A 62-year-old grandfather has spoken of his shock after shots were fired at his Lurgan home.

Kamil Capraz, also known as Tiger, said he was wakened at around midnight by the sound of a couple of what appeared to be loud explosions at his home in Derry St.

Originally from Turkey, Kamil has been living in Ireland for 40 years and said he was devastated by the attack.

Speaking to the MAIL, Kamil, who has worked in ABP Meats for 30 years, said he was in fear for his children and grandchildren after the shooting.

He has two grandchildren and three children.

One of his grandchildren’s prams was showered with glass after the shotgun bullet shattered his front living room window.

Detective Inspector Will Tate said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact Detectives at Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
