Grass cleared at school site

DUP Lisburn North Councillor Scott Carson has welcomed the recent clearing of long grass and undergrowth from the former Dunmurry High School site, now owned by Connswater Homes.

The land, which borders properties in the Hornbeam Road, has now been cleared following swift action by the Housing Association.

“I was recently alerted to the fact that long grass and other undergrowth was beginning to encroach some gardens that adjoin the site,” said Mr Carson.

“Having spoken to the site manager from Connswater, within two days these concerns have been addressed and the area has been cleared of any greenery that may grow towards gardens or become a nuisance to local residents.”

Mr Carson was warm in his praise for Connswater Homes for sorting the matter.

“I am pleased at the rapid response of Connswater in dealing with this issue,” he said, “and it demonstrates their willingness to work with local representatives and residents having taken ownership of the site prior to the commencement of their social housing scheme in the area.”
