Graveyard volunteers are praised

The voluntary work performed in cleaning up rubbish from Kells and Connor Graveyard has been praised by a local councillor.

DUP Cllr. William McCaughey congratulated four locals who spent a day on the project.

Des O’Hara, one of the four men involved, said: “We just felt something needed to be done about the state of the graveyard. The rubbish was everywhere with even an old mattress being found among the gravestones.”

Cllr. McCaughey added: “I hope this encourages other groups of residents to take an interest in the condition of the villages.”
