Great expectations

More shoppers, more spending, more visitors and a shot in the arm for the evening economy; these are among the great expectations for Lisburn’s new-look city centre.

They were given voice earlier this week as Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council officially unveiled the end result of the years-long, £5m public realm revamp.

There was news too that the council had plans in place to continue its “programme of improvements” throughout adjoining streets, to link all parts of the city centre to the
pedestrian precinct.
