Green light for more Irish signs

MORE English-Irish bilingual signs are set to go up in Moyle.

Signs get the go-ahead if two-thirds or more of those who response to Moyle Council want them.

100 per cent of respondents want Irish signs at Kilnadore Brae, Kilnadore Park and Ballybrack Road - all in Cushendall.

There was a 94 per cent approval at Bayview Park in Waterfoot; 81 per cent at Bellisk Drive, Cushendall and 80 per cent at Glenmakeeran Road, Carey.

A number of English-Ulster/Scots signs have already been put up in the Bushmills area.

Independent councillor Seamus Blaney spoke about Kilnadore Brae saying: “I think it is good to see that because it a wee bit of Ulster-Scots at the end and Irish at the start.”

Bushmills DUP councillor Robert McIlroy quipped: “It seems we are coming together”.
