Greenbelt Group comes to Lakeside development

The company has won a major contract with Farrans Construction, an operating division of Northstone (NI) Limited, at their 400 unit Lakeside Development on Bushmills Road.

The scheme is a ground breaking piece of engineering built around an eight and a half acre idyllic lake which will be stocked with fish and surrounded by scenic landscaped areas and walkways.

“We are delighted to have been chosen to take on the land management of this development, our first one in Coleraine”, said Gareth Davies, Business Development Director at the Greenbelt Group. “The development is the largest contract we operate in Northern Ireland”, he added.

Greenbelt Group’s responsibilities will be to look after the grassed areas, shrubs, and woodland. The company has extensive experience in maintaining public open spaces with full supporting services for customer care, public insurance, and reporting routines.

Mr Davies stressed the advantages to new homeowners.

He said, “Our range of services means all public open space areas are maintained to a consistent high standard and we respond to enquiries quickly. Our arrangement has been shown to add value to people’s property and the environment”, he added.

Greenbelt Group employs local contractors wherever possible, helping the local economy. It already manages and maintains 96 similar developments throughout Northern Ireland and has 4,665 customers here.

The area is proving attractive with twenty five properties already having been built and ten homes occupied. The whole development is expected to be completed in a few years.

The Farrans Lakeside Development has won the prestigious National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Award and Greenbelt is delighted to have contributed to this accolade.
