Greenvale ‘something to be proud of’

MEMBERS of Magherafelt District Council were given another tour of the soon to open Greenvale Leisure Centre.

Council Chair Councillor Paul McLean later said he had personally been very impressed by the facility.

Congratulating the officers and everyone involved in the project, he said it was something they could be proud of and described it as an “asset to the council.”

The Greenvale Centre, costing more than £3m, is due to open to the public on September 24 and will be run by a private company, Pulse Fitness.

It will boast Ireland’s first 50-metre swimming pool, splash pool and dedicated learner pool, a luxury spa and thermal suite, 100 station Pulse fitness suite, Kids circuit gym, kids interactive fitness zone, soft play kingdom, an exciting class timetable four court sports hall and squash court and stylish café bistro.

In his monthly report to the council Andrew Cassells, Director of Operations, updated members on the project and said all works are currently on programme for the handover this weekend.
