Groups aidedby Lottery funding

The Buzzards Model Flying Club in Coleraine has received a £9,610 grant from Big Lottery Fund's Awards for All programme.

It is part of a Big Lottery Fund grants roll out today of £847,374 to 101 groups across Northern Ireland, including £29,554 to projects in the Coleraine area.

The Buzzards Model Flying Club in Coleraine organises weekly sessions to build the skills of local members of the community in health and safety, risk assessment and use of model aeroplanes and helicopters.

They are using the £9,610 grant to for equipment including a generator so they can run more activities.

Killowen Community Association provides activities and services for the local community in Coleraine.

They are using the £9,958 to provide a dance and drama programme for the young people, a family trip to the pantomime, a 30 week horticultural gardening project, a friendship and activities club, sports, games and a community Fun Day.

They are also improving the group’s shed in its allotment.

Millburn Community Association provides and develops community facilities and services for local residents in the Millburn/Ballysally area of Coleraine.

They are using the £9,986 to provide training and equipment for the group’s new training centre.
