Growing interest in Eden facilities

Over 600 people have joined in a special weekend celebration at Eden Community Centre.

Carrickfergus Borough Council staff were on hand to inform the public about the new facility during a family fun day on Saturday which tied in with a Celebrate the Christmas Hedgerow event at the nearby allotments.

Councillor Noel Williams said: “While bouncy castles and a disco entertained the children parents were able to sign up for a range of activities and to ask questions about any council facility.

“The environmental team were out in force to offer advice on recycling and other eco issues as were the community team to advise on community issues.

“It was a tremendous occasion with over 600 people through the door by the end of play; play being the operative word as it was a truly fun day.”
