Growth of Cookstown company recognised

The President Elect of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers will visit CDE Global in Cookstown on Thursday.

The visit has been organised in recognition of the high value manufacturing jobs being created by CDE in Cookstown in recent years.

CDE Global design and manufacture equipment for the global quarrying and mining industry and are the only company in their sector to have their personal development programme accredited by IMechE.

CDE Global currently export more than 95% of the equipment the company manufactures outside Northern Ireland with 75% exported outside of the UK.

This accreditation from IMechE means that those employed by CDE can work towards Chartered Engineer status as part of their everyday work.

The accreditation has been in place since 2009 and allows the company to attract and retain the best young engineering talent from our local universities as well as from international universities as they continue to develop business across 7 regions:Ireland & UK; Europe & Russia; Middle East & Africa;Asia; Australasia; Latin America and North America

During his visit to CDE Richard Folkson will meet with a number of CDE employeesThe growth that CDE has enjoyed in recent years has seen the workforce in Cookstown grow by more than 50% in the last 24 months.

The visit from the President Elect of IMechE marks the beginning of the CDE Graduate Recruitment programme for 2015 which will see the company participate in a number of events at Queen’s University Belfast and University of Ulster Jordanstown in the weeks ahead.
