The popular teenager had been studying at Loughry College having left St Michael’s last year. He also worked at McDonald’s.

His former classmates united in grief on Tuesday to form a guard of honour outside St Patrick’s Church, Aghagallon, all dressed in their St Michael’s hoodies with the year 2011 emblazed on the back.

There were emotional scenes as the packed church heard tributes to the popular lad.

An online book of condolence has been opened on the St Michael’s Grammar School website for friends and colleagues to leave messages of sympathy.
