Taking part in the event at Sportsbowl, organised by Antrim & Ballymena branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind, were teams from Ballee Visually Impaired Club, Ballymena Lions Club, Jollyes, Dogs Trust, and Glarryford YFC.

A spokesperson for the Guide Dogs branch, who also took part, said: “This event gave sighted people the opportunity to experience a little of what it is like to be blind and appreciate that everyone can enjoy the same activities.

“It raised £213 and we would like to thank all those who took part.”

Volunteers will be collecting at Sainsbury’s on Saturday, October 26, and working on trading stalls in the Fairhill Centre on November 28 and the Tower Centre on December 6 to raise funds.

Branch organiser, Alison Hanna, thanked all those who have generously supported Guide Dogs over the past three years and says anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can contact her on 24647865.
