Guitar maestro to hold workshop

ACOUSTIC guitarists are in for a treat as the most sought-after guitar teacher in the North West, Mr Sean McTaggart, will hold a three-day course at the City of Derry Guitar Festival, University of Ulster Magee Campus, August 26-28.

Sean McTaggart has been actively involved in the music scene for over 35 years playing guitar with a range of bands. Mr McTaggart has been teaching guitar at a local college and to individuals for many years and has built a reputation as one of the best guitar teachers in the North West.

Many of his students now play in bands and have careers in music and some have played at the Oxegen Festival and on the BBC’s Rock School.

On this three-day course Sean will be teaching both acoustic and electric guitar and demonstrating the use of amplifiers and pedals to obtain a range of sounds which can be used for different styles of music.

Classical and electric guitar courses and workshops will also run throughout the weekend with Carlos Bonnell, Matthew McAllister, Gabriel Guillen, Victoria Zhadko and Paul McMordie.

Applications from classical, acoustic, electric and flamenco guitarists of all standards are welcome.
