“As councillors we are pleased to have Martin Daly from council as our local contact and he is very proactive and has a good working relationship with our office.

“Over the weekend (December 5/6) our local road service personnel dealt with fifty calls and did get a lot of issues resolved.

“Due to extra monies being made available from the Department of Regional Development (DRD) Minister Michelle Mcllveen the skeleton staff service has been lifted but people are still asked to be patient while the backlog is reduced.

“Gary Middleton MLA will also be inviting the DRD Minister Michelle Mcllveen out to Newbuildings, to take action about the ongoing problem with cars speeding on the Duncastle Road.

“The ongoing issue with Pine Street traffic congestion was discussed and we are now taking this to the DRD minister through Gary Middleton MLA.

“We also raised concerns about traffic congestion on Limavady Road and Link road and we will continue to lobby for traffic controls on Caw roundabout.”
