Gunman robs store yards from bomb explosion

A gunman has robbed and threatened staff at a store in Lurgan last night, just yards from where a bomb exploded at the weekend.

The gunman robbed the convenience store in Victoria Street at around 8pm on Monday night.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Wilson said: “He had his hood up and his face covered with a scarf and had a firearm in his possession.

“He threatened and demanded money from two shop assistants.

“He made off with a sum of cash on foot into Victoria Place towards Brownlow Terrace.

“The man is described as being around 6ft tall, of slim build with a swarthy complexion. He was wearing a green, waterproof raincoat.

“We would like to hear from anyone who has information which may assist our investigation. We can be contacted in Lurgan on 101, quoting ref: 1103 200715.”
