Habitat for Humanity role for Carrickfergus Grammar

Carrickfergus Grammar School pupils team up with St Dominic's High School, Belfast, on a Habitat for Humanity project. INCT 39-702-CON

In 2014, 10 year 13 students engaged in workshops and built for a day at Windsor Presbyterian Church, Belfast.

A statement from Carrick Grammar continued: “This project is a vital part of the community, providing an opportunity for Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland to fulfil its local mission; bringing people of diverse backgrounds together on a project that aims to serve everyone in the community.

“Workshops involved invaluable discussions between pupils, challenging them to consider factors influencing their society and identifying their role in bringing about positive change as local and global citizens.

“Students came away from the project feeling enthusiastic and motivated to raise funds for charity.

“After an excellent effort from all 10 students to fund raise for Habitat for Humanity, students reached their ambitious target of £1250, the cost of a house in the developing world.”
