Had played darts and football

The funeral has taken place of a local man raised in the Blackskull area.

Mr William Robert Mordie passed away at Craigavon Area Hospital on Friday February 20. He was the son of the late Robert and Hessie 18 Ballygunaghan Place Blackskull Dromore.

Barry as he was affectionately known attended Blackskull School and then went to work for Maurice and Noel Kerr in the building trade. He was a tight and hard worker and always liked good a bit of craic enjoying any jokes that were going.

He was keen on throwing darts for McCartan’s and played football for Donacloney. Barry was an ardent supporter for many years of Glenavon Football Club and was keen on Glenavon up until his passing.

The family were pleased with the care that Barry received from his own doctor and the doctors and staff of Craigavon and Lurgan Hospitals.

He is survived by his cousin Stephen, Stephen’s wife Michele and all the family circle.

The funeral took place from William Bell and Co. Funeral Home 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge on Monday February 23 which was largely attended.

The Very Reverend Bryan Kerr of Dromore Cathedral officiated and was assisted by Rev. Trevor McKeown. The interment was in Dromore Cathedral Churchyard.

Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Banbridge Group Surgery.

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
