Haggis and a quiz at Magheramorne

Seventy-four guests attended Magheramorne Presbyterian Church’s’s annual Burns supper and quiz.

Harold and Phyllis Boyd, with Jennifer Paisley and Neil Bingham, prepared the traditional fare while Morris Gardner asked the questions. Gareth Bissett collected the papers for markers Elma Morrow and Mavis Nelson while Gareth’s dad, Gary, logged the scores.

Local musician, Allister McIlroy, piped in the haggis with Gillian Paisley and Gareth bearing the pudding and toasts. Wilson Logan, past world president of the Burns Society, addressed the haggis and after grace from Rev. Bingham all enjoyed the pudding with tatties and neaps followed by cranachan, ice cream, tea and coffee.

Winners of the quiz were Tequila Mockingbird, followed by Timorous Beasties and Loch Nessies.
