Hair today, gone tomorrow!

A BRAVE Coleraine man has had his lovely long locks cut for charity.

Willie McKane has worn his hair long for many years now but on Monday night, his daughter Tanya, a qualified hairdresser, cut off his ponytail to raise funds for Macmillan.

“I have been growing it for a long time now, “explained Willie.

“My daughter came up with the idea to cut it short for charity, so I agreed, and the rest is history.

“On Monday night, we gathered in my local pub, The Roost Bar, and to be honest I think my daughter Tanya was more nervous than me.”

Willie now has short hair, and he says he’s getting used to his new look.

“It’s different, I’ll say that,” joked Willie.

Willie’s efforts have raised 2,201. He said “I know a lot of people who have cancer and I know people who have died from it. Macmillan do great work, so it’s great to be able to support them.”
