A big issue for many cancer patients is the loss of their hair through cancer treatment. All Wig Walk walkers are therefore asked to wear a wig to show their solidarity and support. Wigs and T-shirts are provided for the walk.

Colleen completed the 10 mile walk last year, said: "Whether you come as part of a group or on your own, you'll find that it's the friendliest walk ever... highly appropriate as it is to raise money for Friends of the Cancer Centre.

"Part of the craic of the day is that everyone sports a wig! Fun wigs are, as you might expect, provided for the walk but you're also more than welcome to bring your own, or even dress up in full costume if you're in the mood! Now is the time to get planning, to identify a few likely sponsors and maybe plan a Donegal break weekend around the Wig Walk. After that it's a case of 'Hair We Go!'"The registration fee is 5. The advice to those interested is hurry as places are limited and often (wait for it) 'hair' today, gone tomorrow.
