Halloween at Colin

Parents Week in Colin will see local children, mums, and dads, taking part in pumpkin carving, lantern making, spooky storytelling and lots of other family activities at venues throughout the Colin area, all organised by Colin Neighbourhood Partnership and Colin Sure Start.

The programme of events is designed to provide opportunities for parents to spend quality time with their kids.

It comes at a perfect time as children are off school and many parents are left wondering how best to occupy them.

Annie Armstrong, Manager of Colin Neighbourhood Partnership, said: “Colin Neighbourhood Partnership has teamed up with many other local organisations in the area to organise Parents Week in Colin.

“We believe that spending quality time with your children is one of the simplest and most rewarding things a parent can do.” “There is something for all family members during Parents Week in Colin.

As always, Parents Week in Colin finishes with one of the biggest Halloween Night events in Northern Ireland.

This year, the Colin Halloween Parade and Halloween trail has a new look and a new venue and will move from its previous home in Colin Glen Forest Park to the grounds of Cloona House.

The Halloween parade will also take a new route and will leave the Colin Community Hub at the Laurelglen Shops on Stewartstown Road at 6.45pm, go through the Laurelglen Wood, and finish at Cloona House gardens for a Family Fright Night.

Here, revelers will experience a spooky magical Halloween trail featuring pirate ships, scary storytelling and a haunted horror crypt. There will also be Halloween arts and crafts, light installations, children’s storytelling, fire-breathers, and also workshops on board the Wheelworks Art Cart.
