Handbag snatched

Detectives are appealing for information following the assault, which happened at.around 12.20pm.

A 23-year-old woman was walking along a path towards Drumgor Road when she was approached by two young men on bicycles.

One of the men asked if she had a cigarette before the two grabbed her bag. A struggle ensued and the woman was struck on the back of the head and knocked to the ground.

The men made off with the bag which contained a sum of cash and two mobile phones.

The men are described as being between 18 and 20 years old, approximately 5ft 8in tall, of medium build and were wearing chunky striped hoodies, tracksuit bottoms and baseball caps.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the assault or has information in relation to this to contact them on 0845 600 8000. Information about crime can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
