Handbag stolen at graveyard

POLICE in Lisburn are appealing for witnesses after an elderly lady had her handbag stolen from her car whilst visiting a loved one’s grave.

The 78-year-old lady had returned to her vehicle at around 2.45pm after visiting Blaris graveyard on January 25 when she noticed her car window smashed.

Upon further examination she found her handbag, which contained her purse, bank cards and mobile phone, had been taken.

Police investigating this crime would like to hear from anyone who was in the graveyard at around the time of the theft and who could assist with enquiries. Officers can be contacted by calling 0845 600 8000.
