Handbag stolen from car at Lough Fea found discarded in Moneymore

A handbag stolen from a car parked at the popular Lough Fea between Cookstown and Draperstown, was later found discarded in Moneymore.

Police say the theft happened on Tuesday evening [Sept 1] at approximately 7pm in the public car park.

“A passenger side window in the vehicle was smashed and a handbag stolen,” said police.

“Did anyone note anything suspicious in this area at this time?

“A member of the public has since handed this bag into Police discarded in the Moneymore area and an investigation continues. We would appreciate any help. Please call 101 with police reference number CC1004 1/9/15.

“Please keep in mind when parking in isolated car parks and keep valuables out of sight.”
