Handbag stolen in Larne distraction burglary

Detectives are appealing for information following a distraction burglary in the Larne area on Saturday, August 23.

PSNI Chief Inspector Catherine Magee said: “At approximately 2.30pm an unknown man called at a house in the Fleet Street area. He said to the female occupier that he used to work with her husband. He asked her for a glass of water and whilst the occupier was in the kitchen her handbag was stolen from the living room.

“He is described as being approximately 60 years old, 5’9” tall, heavy build and wearing a farmers/grandfather cap.

Police would ask anyone who has any information to contact detectives at Larne on the non emergency number 101.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
