Have a heart – support Iain

After a recent British Heart Foundation report showed that the Ballymoney area has the second highest rate of deaths due to coronary heart disease in the whole of the UK, local man Iain McAfee is hoping to raise money by running from Ballymoney to Coleraine.

The run which will take place next Saturday (21st September) will see Iain run from Ballymoney Showgrounds to Coleraine Showgrounds, a total of eight miles.

Iain said: “I’ve wanted to test myself more and more recently and came up with the idea of running from Ballymoney to Coleraine for BHF Northern Ireland.”

For his run Iain will be wearing a running shirt sponsored by local driving instructor Ian Hamilton who himself knows all about heart disease.
