Have you got what it takes to join the Street Pastors?

The Street Pastors will be hosting an information evening this Friday, April 8 in St. Andrew’s Church, Ballysally.

The project was the brain child of local councillor Stephanie Quigley, and was first talked about back in 2014.

As a mother of five, Stephanie said that she wanted to ensure that there were people to care for our young people when they were out late at night socialising.

Now the Street Pastors team has over 50 volunteers and they can be seen around estates in the Triangle area, and outside bars and nightclubs from 10pm to 4am on Fridays or Saturday nights to care for, listen to and help people who are out on the streets.

The teams are supported by all of the local churches and community groups and work in partnership with the police, the council and other statutory agencies.

Do you think you could be part of this team?

There are five requirements: a passion for Jesus and the community; you must be least 18 years old (no upper limit); committed to a local church, a recommendation from a church leader and an Access NI check; volunteer for a shift at least once a month and commit to undertake 12 modules of training – spread over a year.
