Hay truck catches fire as it drives through Dungannon

Police were notified of the incident at around 6.30pm and say Ranfurly Road will remain closed for another few hours.

The lorry pulled in at the entrance to the old Inn on the Park Hotel, and traffic was diverted from Dungannon town centre along other routes by officers.

An eyewitness said the lorry’s load started burning as it drove along the Ranfurly Road - which leads to the M1 motorway.

“I was driving behind it when it went up,” they explained.

“There was smoke coming out of it about a mile before that.”
